Got my scooter up and running on the weekend.
Very happy with it!!

Came up really well!

Am I right in saying that you've used a custom ali/ebay dash there, and if so where did you manage to hide the controller?

Cheers

Looks like you've forgot to connect the secondary power wire.

from my understanding it might be this wire

I've found a way to unlock a lime/bird scooter without buying a new control board (and manage to make it speed up to 37 km/h):

What you will need:

1. A lime/bird scooter which is from ninebot model ES 1/2/3/4
2. A new original dashboard for the ES Scooter
3. An Android Phone

Step 1:

Remove the handle bar from the scooter. Then put in the new dashboard and throw the lime/bird dashboard away.

Step 2:

Download this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... e&hl=en_US

Step 3:
Make a custom firmware by using the following site:
ninebot.scooterhacking.org
If you want to unlock the speed then patch the maximum speed parameter to 37

Step 4:
Download the firmware and open up the ESdownG app.

Step 5:
Start up your dashboard and connect to it via the ESdownG app.
Click the "check Ver" button
Then click "open bin" and choose the firmware you've just downloaded.
After the firmware is loaded click "flash bin" and wait until the app shows "done".

You can now use your lime/bird scooter.

Enjoy and thank me later To view images REGISTER or LOGIN for full access.

Hi everyone,

I retrieve 2 Tier scooters in my city. I changed the dashboards as well as the controllers of the motors. The scooters work perfectly, it accelerates and brakes well, however an "S" remains displayed on the dashboard and the scooter starts to sound like when you move without paying. So I have to turn it off then on and on again until the problem returns. In addition I tried to change the firmware of the scooter with the app ESDownG on android and custom firmware, but impossible, I flash the firmware in .ZIP but the app sends me "[4] send retry" and cancels flashing after a few seconds. If anyone has a solution, I'm interested. Thx

Hi guys
That's my point of view on Lime ninebot

Green GPS box has two cables, one with cap on it is USB and debug UART , second one connected to ninebot control-board is DC and UART, its powering mobile unit with GPS and communicating with control board.

Control-board of the lime-s is blue with DC UART socket to communicate with GPS.

You can not bypass or change cables to make it work because it is all digital, problem is in blue board what has custom firmware [original ninebot has green board without UART ] that's communicating only with GPS unit, this firmware has turned off Bluetooth on the dashboard to make impossible to upload own firmware, you can do it only by JTAG. If you disconnect GPS unit and power on the ninebot you get only error message [that's not to bright to see it over dash cover] with wrench key and temperature indicator [or what is it] and scooter is in locked state impossible to move it, its applying electronic brake if detects move and beeping .

Dash board is seems to customized only by design with green power button with mechanical block element that's blocking power button to be pressed but you can easily remove it, other parts looks same like original ninebot .
Now i waiting to new main board arrive from China and try it to put new life in it.

If someone of you has a Bird ninebot [or Wind, Tier too if are you in EU or Israel] you can post photos of control-board and dashboard to make our knowledge stronger

And for those who have theory to change SIM, do not do it, SIM is only medium if you change the SIM the MeiG board is still calling same server but some interesting info, Lime in EU using US T-Mobile SIM card To view images REGISTER or LOGIN for full access.

The TIER mainboard in my scooter looks identical. It has the same connection to the GPS module. It is also in a locked state just like yours... To view images REGISTER or LOGIN for full access.
I'm sorry this probably is a really stupid question but what tool should you use to pull out the nuts & bolts from the lime scooter? Sorry again if this is stupid just getting started in all of this, any help at all is very much appreciated
