Hello everyone! Thanks for the invite!

After seeing ridesharing scooters rapidly appear in my town of Stillwater over the past couple months, I finally decided to ride a Bird earlier this month. It was fun, even if I still approach it with an abundance of caution (I broke my ankle on a foot-pedal scooter over a decade ago.) It's really handy especially today when I had to take my car to the tire shop and still get to work on time.

This week I got into charging. I haven't been able to do much, since these take up a lot more space in my car than I thought and they don't seem to want to fit in my trunk. Also, the one of the power kits Bird sent me doesn't work (and their tech support has been less than helpful...) But it's a fun pastime to give me a few, honest $10s of dollars.

Glad to meet y'all. Looking forward to great discussion!

Hi @SmaMan !

Glad to see you found your way here. You are wise to approach these scooters with caution. They are dangerous but man are they a blast to ride. My favorite part of charging is getting to zip around on them for free, the money is nice too.

All the best,
Edmund

First I've heard of a scooter charger from Bird not working. Does the indicator turn on when you plug it in?

While your short on chargers make the most of your time by going after higher dollar Birds. The best time to do this is early morning on weekends to pickup the scooters who sat out all night. The posts below can be helpful to get you started.

Yep. The light doesn’t turn on at all. It also doesn’t charge the scooters at all when it’s plugged in them.

So far, anything I’ve seen on the map that’s above $5.00 has lead to a hoarder’s nest. Unfortunately, after OSU banned them, and Bird picked up a whole bunch of their scooters, leaving us with about 50 in the whole town, the pickings are pretty slim. I’ve found my best shot is grabbing a few in the southern neighborhoods when they hit the grid at 9pm, and just swapping the chargers around if necessary. I’m noticing a lot more Limes around these days. Maybe it’s time I join them...

But I’ll definitely check out those guides, thanks!

Well, good news is after texting back to the number that asked me about what car and stuff I'd be using for the charging, I finally got results! According to the email confirmation they're sending what looks to be another 3-pack of power kits.

...And then shortly after, someone finally replied to the other request and put in another order for a 3-pack of power kits! So I might end up with 8 good chargers after all is said and done.

Dang, looks like you hit the jackpot. It tooks me months to get my third pack of chargers. Nice job!
