The dashboard you purchased is counterfeit and reports incorrect info to m365downG. If you try to flash a custom firmware with M365DownG it will fail at 4%. It is perfectly safe to try, just don’t expect it will succeed. To find out your actual firmware version use the android app M365tools (I think the app has Perenti in the name). M365tools should be able to use your circuitboard to read the firmware version. You will need to buy or borrow either an original dashboard or a clone that allows you to flash new firmware, which is easier said tha done. The only clones that I have seen work do not say ninebot on them. I have 7 that say ninebot and 5 of them were supposed to be OEM, but weren’t. You can tell an OEM from a clone from the font used in the ninebot branding. It looks like a generic font on the counterfeit boards and resembles Ninebot’s branding on original OEM dashboards. Beware, many sellers use pics of OEM boards but ship counterfeit ones. You can still use the dashboard you bought after flashing. Flashing only takes a minute or so. It is easiest if you just swap the entire handlebar assembly rather than removing the circuitboard just to flash.
Good luck
