Where did you get your controller from?
Are you sure it's not a clone???
I recently bought a brand new one directly from ninebot.

Hey Santa:

HELP! I'm going nuts here, I'm hoping you (or anyone) can help.

I've flashed ES and M365 controllers and dashes with no trouble in the past (which isn't to say I know what I'm doing, but I can follow instructions well enough), but I just can't get the Lyft Max ESC to connect!

I have the SWK/DIO/GND wires well-soldered and tested for continuity/bridging. When I try to connect, the red light on the ESC turns on but I get a "can not connect" error. I've tried Normal, Hot Plug and Connect under reset, to no avail.

I've also tried connecting the +5V from the ST-Link to the 3rd pin of the dash connector on the ESC, and when that didn't work, to the red wire of the battery connection. Still nothing.

When I hit "connect', the red light on the ESC comes on and remains on; the blue light on the ST-Link alternates to red a couple of times then goes back to blue after reporting the error.

Most of the time, I get a "No target connected" message in the log, but sometimes it reports "Internal command error". I've been trying to be a little more systematic in order to find some rhyme or reason to the errors but so far, I'm not seeing a pattern.
Hi lostinla,
This might save your day ;)
Let me know if it works for you:

I did one of rental without rewiring and everything worked well, right now I tried another rental company and didn't rewired it, seems like dashboard fried this time :D is there any chances that I damaged something else too, or just a dashboard? Thank you for answer.

Edit: rewired like in photos, connected same dashboard, there is no signs at all right now, no error blinking on a scooter etc, only one thing is that battery blinks blue. Also tried to connect ES4 dashboard (already did on my old one and it worked, atleast showed something) but at this time after i fried dashboard even ES4 dash doesn't show anything too. Any opinions? Thanks.

IF YOU GET "CAN NOT CONNECT TO TARGET" WHEN FLASHING ESC:

1st, just try connecting 5v (from the st-link to the 3rd pin from bottom, on this connector), THE RED CIRCLE: https://i.imgur.com/olWuWHV.jpg

If adding 5v still doesn't work to flash the ESC, then you can try this link: https://bit.ly/2D8B2M0
If broken, see screenshot of it: https://i.imgur.com/si5dEeQ.png
and also see the image it references:

Of the several Spin scooters I've worked with, only 1 needed the 5V connection. The rest worked with only 3 wires to the ESC. I did NOT need to follow the extensive instructions linked (the one which uses a capacitor and resetting the CPU).

This model have a totally different ESc. You can unlock it by stlink only and after only use CFW to avoid error. There is no retail firmware for this model for the battery, you need tu use BMS 1.5.3 (compatible with the level display on the battery) but you have to flash it by ioT with iap BEFORE flashing the ESC by stlink (if not, you need to stlink battery too)
Advice: don’t connect to your Mobil app before changing serial number. They are sharing model only 😉

Does anyone one have any experience with the 2.2-2.3 modell? The scooter connects and unlocks, shows info but throttle, lights and brake dont work. The controller isnt a stock max controller so it isnt modified by me.

Questions:
  1. Dashboard BLE:
I flashed with BLE555 (BLE 5.5.5). Seems like full_BLE.bin is a pretty old firmware dump with the same problems from the M365 Pro dashboard recovery.
I can't change the name, serial number and connect with the Ninebot App.
Is it possible to update the BLE with the Ninebot App or in another way?
  2. Battery BMS:
I did not flash the BMS. Is this necessary?
  3. Controller ESC:
After flashing the ESC I got error 27.
meister_sd on scooterhacking.org writes: "After programming the ESC with the full dump, you have to read the first address 0x1FFFF7E8-F3 and then copy it to the second address 0x0801C1B4-BF. This prevents the Code 37 error from the beginning."

    Did someone try that?
BLE555 is a sh*t firmware. It’s a modified one to kill the crypto on Bluetooth and change other stuff for the first max CFW. Now it’s not usefull cos, most of software (iap, ninebot flasher etc...) run correctly the BLE crypto. I think you need to stlink your dash to ble110 (same tuto but you need to change the BLEfulmdump file into the folder for the full dump of BLE 110) and after work like « normal » dashboard you can update to 113

For the reprogramming part of the esc it’s useless cos it’s different same bases so max firmware make the tric but to avoid error you need a CFW (you just need to change the level errors)

Then for the bms. I don’t know if it’s absolutely necessary but I have two batteries, the one I flashed by ioT port work fine The other are not flashed and I can’t now by ioT cos I flashed the esc, she seems to work in freewheel but when I run it on the road, and ask for power, it’s just disconnect the power after 2 min .... so I think it’s the rental firmware
