can you not just use the ES4 controller and swap it out with the Max controller? ES4 controller is fully flashable/hacked. Then you can use the same motors controllers and not have to worry about buying a 3rd party ESC
Any updates if this works?

just so you guys know, you can get the tool for these at your local autozone. it's a little over $10 If I remember correctly. it's similar looking to an Allen wrench tool except it has a shinny green color on the handles.

I went to plug my es4 controller to the max but found the max has 5 pins on the plug while the es4 only has 4. gonna just order a 350w controller kit off amazon.

the bigger size of the scooter feels much more solid at speed than the tiny scooters before it. I'm thinking a 2k watt motor would do nicely. any suggestions anyone?

We’re still waiting for the Chinese factories to make a clone cirucit board for the ninebot Max. Then we need stock firmware to flash but that shouldn’t be hard... we just need someone to extract and make a copy of the firmware from their personal ninebot max
the max has safety that prevent extraction of the firmware. we just have to wait for them to push out an update.

Link to the controllers you're gonna get? I've always used clones, never a generic controller.

FYI - if you flip through the pages on this thread we also have some information on the Lyft max
(not the same, but similar boat)

viewtopic.php?f=54&t=5747

just trying to help us unify the information we have to see if any of us can figure this out...

Page 4 has some stuff I did to get a booting m365 dashboard on a Lyft Max (this should also work for the SPIN)

If we can acquire stock MAX dashboards, this method might work plug and play...
