Received this message from Bird today. They are stopping scooters from going up in value as they stay on the map. I'm in Baltimore.

I didn't get this message and get the impression they are launching this as a pilot program by city. They'll be observing closely to see how this impacts chargers picking up scooters and if it cuts down hoarding. Expect this to come out in other areas soon.

I got this text the other day accusing me of hoarding. All the scooters at my house were checked in! Bird is pulling out all the stops to end hoarding.

This only solves part of the problem. The bigger issue is chargers picking up scooters not on the charger map during the day and scanning them at 9:00pm. Bird looses money from the scooter not getting any rides and left with a ghost scooter on the map.

Hoarders will always hoard. Most of them are not holding for the price to go up. They just pick them up off the street before everyone else does and capture them later. The rest of us are left with no scooters to capture.

This is not the way to combat hoarders. They know where the people live, just have the algorithem keep them from getting paid and set the alarms all off at once. Those things are annoying, they'd kick them to the street in no time.

No way this goes out nationwide. No one's time is worth picking up $3 scooters that never go up.

Maybe their are a few people whose time is worth far less than minimum wage. Do you really want these people in charge of your property Bird?

Like any new side gig the money will be great in the beginning and slowly get worse as the scooter companies refine their model. The same thing happened when Rideshare first came on the seen. I made a killin driving for Uber until they kept decreasing my pay until it wasn’t worth it.

Be thankful for the money you’re making now and get all you can cause it won’t last forever.

I received the same message in Arlington, VA. Problem is, they also decreased the bounty amounts to $2 and $4 birds. Before, our lowest bounty was $5. Since I have a capture amount I am not wasting my time with a $2 bird.

I don’t get this. Are they trying to piss off chargers and get them to quit? Who in their right mind would pick up a $2 scooter?
