Yea man. Well, I cant say its BETTER but it works well and at least offers you an alternative to the stock m365 controller. Ive used one of those 1000w controllers thats available on amazon and ebay. Its a f**king monster measuring at 7" x 3.5" x 1.75" but, yes, it works. The label says its a "brainpower motor controller (item #ksdlm25) " 1000w 36-48v 38A .
It has absolutely NO instructions so you get to figure out how to wire it by yourself. And its Chinese as f**k. It even smelled like chow mein and roasted duck when I opened the package up. It is so chinese it almost starts to manufacture a cheap copy of itself when you let it out of its package. And heres a joke my Chinese friend told me: How do you know that Adam and Eve were not Chinese? Because if they were they would have just eaten the snake. Ha. Sort of funny. Anyways...

Figuring this f**king controller out is a battle every step of the way....takes patience to get this thing to work, but I have more or less figured it out. Theres a few features I have no idea about but Ive got the basics down. SOOOOOOO

Listen...herers what you do. I have mine hooked up to a stock m365 motor on my test bench, im running a stock battery and stock throttle.

POWER:Hook heavy gauge black and red wires to...guess where????? YES your battery, which should be fully charged.
Theres an orange wire floating around in there. Jump it to your thick red wire. This is your "ignition switch" wire. Youre essentially just shorting it to battery positive for now. You can make an ignition switch later if you desire.

Hall sensor wires: Same EXACT colors guys. Just color match and you are good.

Throttle: The throttle wires out of the controller are the red, black and white. Your m365 throttle is red, black and green. Just go red red, black black, and white green. Easy. Once someone tells you which wires are for the throttle !

Speed Control: Theres a black white and grey set of wires called "gear shift" or something like that . It is your speed setting. Short black to grey for low speed (for p*ssies), short black to white for high speed (for big dawgs...like YOU)

There is also REVERSE Just short the 2 wires on the bright green connector and your motor will spin backwards. (I didnt f**k with this until I read your post 365guy....so this ones for you and mom;) hope she gets better soon....and also...this controller will start motor from 0 mph speed. And its only like $30.00 Hell yeah.

To get things moving at first you will need to short the 2 dk green wires with a single pin connector together. This is the motor "learning" program. The motor will spin either correctly or backwards. If it spins correctly, unplug. You are done. If it spins backwards unplug, then plug in again and it will spin forwards. Unplug. You are done. Throttle will now work.

Figuring this sh*t out was a major headache. So.....just let me say in advance.....YOURE WELCOME.
A lil ScooterTalk love from the City Of Angeles on a lovely sunny memorial day weekend! which reminds me....

Just wanted to say thanks LA scooter — Boston budday here and just got the exact 1000w motor controller you described— hooked it up to a bird zero and it’s glorious, so much faster

So far I've toasted the last of my m365 controllers, but moved on to the 1000w controllers. I switched back to a one motor build with hand brake because of the lack of electronic regain hookups. I'm haven't ordered the 1000w motors yet, so in the meantime I've been experimenting. I killed a zero motor with the 1000w controller and I also built a two wheel m365 with the other 1000w controller, but I'm starting have issues with the two wheels. I'm wondering if I cut the hall sensors off of one of the wheels if it would cause it to work properly with timing. I thought that having two wheels hooked up to the thousand watt controller would increase the odds of it actually working versus destroying the motors LOL. Can I get some advice?
I recommending checking the mosfets. If they are shorted, then you need to replace them (IRFB4110) and resolder the burnt trace.

Finally got around to building a front fork so I can run dual motors (all Wheel drive) on my mini military ww2 bike scooter thing.
Will be running 2 58v batteries and 2 1000 watt controllers. It went about 27mph on one motor at 52 volts so I’m hoping it goes at least 30 after I’m done wiring this thing.

I have a rear disk break . Considering trying out a Flipsky Vesc and that will allow regen braking on both front and rear wheels. I can also run a front disk brake but need to fab a bracket for the caliper and there isn’t much room for a brake lever near the throttle.
The rear brake should be plenty though.

I have been modifying the frame more and will post some pictures once I get it finished for anyone interested.

It’s been challenging trying to find space for 2 large controllers as well as 2 batteries plus a junction box for switches and usb.

Unfortunately the frame is metal and heavy, with two motors and multiple batteries this thing is not light. I’m hoping I can still get around 30 mph even though it’s probably around 85lbs.

Definitely post the pics!

I've noticed that some of these 1000w chinese controllers have leads for EABS. Is that not used for braking thru the hub motor? I've seen many how-to videos on wiring these cheap controllers, but with no emphasis on electric braking. My plan was to move the existing motor on my m365 to the rear and have a second controller (+ external battery) controlling another motor at the front, but the braking concerns me. I believe it was LASkooter213 who mentioned that the easiest setup would be to use additional m365 control boards, but I was hoping to use my existing external battery instead of another big m365 battery.

I wonder how two hub motor brakes compare to one hub motor brake + rear disc brake. Flying at 30mph with an extra 85lbs is a lot of momentum!

So your building a dual motor M365 and your trying to figure out how to stop ?
The way I have built my dual motor was to use the electric brakes with no mechanical brake at all.
It stopped just fine.
