First try a dash off amazon, works great, app connects and no control board swap.
I bought dash board n cover for segway bird es4 off eBay..dash comes on and Bluetooth recognizes scooter but FAILS to connect and motor doesn't engage and headlight doesn't come on but seems REALLY EASY TO KICK IT WITGOUT MOTOR... do I need to flash something from firmware or do I need to also replace the board that is in the neck near the battery it is frustrating on that model

This is quite lol to me, for the ppl who can't figure things like this out, tinkering really isn't for them... Anytime you have to post to a forum a question that you could easily answer faster yourself if you just tried it... It's unreal how many questions like this show up on here... But this one is just lol

I’m way late to the game and found out after hours of research that apparently my town only has new models (Es2 and max). Alomejor Controller LCD Display 24V/36V/48V/60V 250W/35 So all the gear I ordered in prep is wrong lol. I have taken both apart completely and blown a board in the max. I have a 350w controlle 8-)r coming in a couple days and im going to see what happens when I bypass the fancy sh*t. I’ll let you all know. I am willing to try anything you guys toss at me - everything is dismantled. 8-)

trying to wrap my head around how you blew a board.. are these birds or lyfts? lyfts are jumped and need to be reworked accordingly. the basics on this are simple.. if you're working with a rental scooter other than lyft, be prepared to purchase a controller and a dash. if your 'police auction purchase' is a lyft, they jump their voltage so you cant just hook up any ol thing to a lyft rental. there are extra steps.

i realized (especially hanging out with this forum group where you only get breadcrumbs of information) that you need to be prepared to spend a few extra bucks to learn. if you have a frame (bottom, motor, handlebars, wheels.. all that sh*t...) then most of the time a new dash and controller will get you in the game. if they are ES4 and they are rental, you may get problems with the external battery.

i had to learn the hard way that getting any respect around here or getting access to the next level of information requires, well, respect. the data collected on converting these skutz are coveted.
