Kiki can you elaborate on the connections you have circled, I don't see any info on this yet.

The image is a picture of the controller, the items circled are for reference only, the yellow squares are the points you solder wires to in order to hook it up to your STLinkv2 device which is connected to your USB port on your Windows machine. The STLinkv2 device talks to the chip on the board and allows you to write firmware to it. There are instructions to flash via this method on the forum

Having the same issue after swapping the Lyft brain and control board for stock ES4 ones and reassembling. Both batteries took a full charge. Brain comes on, shows 0mph and full battery icon, red tail lights flash every second or so, and the app says “connection failed” every time. Tried with 3 different brains, same issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah I had to reflash it with the StLinkv2 wired directly to the controller like this: Image

After you flash you'll want to upgrade the BMS to the latest verison 1.4.1 I believe through the ninebot app and then flash a custom firmware on there afterwards to get some more speed.

I'm using a motor power constant of 48000, alternative throttle algorithm, and 1.3.9 custom firmware base.

Please remember NOT to bomb down a hill and think that hitting the electric brake is ever a good idea, it fries your board almost instantly. I think the Lyft controllers *might* not be complete crap since they got pretty involved with their buillds... the jury is still out on that though. I'll let you know if i fry mine.

I get get 20-25mph on flats I haven't pushed it too far yet though. Either way it seems unlocked now after flashing the controller.

I threw that green 5 wire socket away because I didnt know how it was actually wired in the socket.. didn't want to blow up a dash miswiring it. Having that second 4 wire socket laying around was key but if you do end up trying it let us all know how it worked out.

Cheers
For us with no spare 4 pin cable harness would you be able to trace the wires for continuity from the standard 4 pin with a multimeter just to see if the added bottom center 5th pin is the added connection and all others stay the same? that would really help a lot thank you!

Wait really??!! Flashing a lyft es4 controller will restore it? No more 36v going up to the dashboard??!! Only 3.3v??!!

The flashing happened after he rewired the 4pin connection to the standard location on the board.

I got a new dash today and will trace the wires to be able to determine the wiring pattern on the 5pin harness so we can relocate that same cable and use a standard dash. Ill keep you guys posted on the progress and upload pics later on.
