This would work just the same as a original right?
https://www.electrokit.com/produkt/st-l ... -stm32-v2/
If so I can test it all out tomorrow as I have a normal dash. Otherwise I need to order a programmer and I will get it early next week if I am unlucky
I think so, depends if it works with the software on the computer likes it. @MikeSnow which software do you use?

Think I will give them a call before I go there just to check if it works with the stm software if not I will order a original

Little bit concered about that connector.

As you see on this picture, you need SWCLK, SWIO, GND and TVCC

But on the ST-Link V2 that you linked, it doesn't have a TVCC connector. But I think that the 5.0V connector is the replacement for TVCC.

Just came back after reading a few datasheets as I had this exact concern
Yea from what I can find its the same thing but will double-check with them they usually know what they are talking about :) will pay the same as for a original but I can get it right away

Found something on the custom firmware front, not sure if it’s useful, but i’m doing my best to help. Translated from the original russian website:
https://translate.googleusercontent.com ... jIgaTkohxw

EDIT: another one.. https://forum.electricunicycle.org/topi ... -firmware/

Meanwhile, can someone confirm what i said before?

Just to make something clear: the “old” aka brainless aka no-front-box voi has the tracker on the underside? No other tracker elsewhere? Meaning, if i were able to physically detach it and dump it in the bin, the scooter would be pretty much untracable?

The no-box in front scooter has the tracker on the underside connected to a splitter cable that comes from the pole to the rear lights to have energy. The tracker has a sim card and also a small 100mA little battery. The picture of the tracker is already i this thread. After being removed there is no way to physically track the scooter.

Some points:
I've allready contacted the devs and ESMAX firmware is not yet available to public, also it will probably be a paid firmware.
There are no known OTA tools for firmware upgrade on Ninebot ES Scooters.

The unicycle forum is very rich because they are years ahead :) but for kickscooters there isn't much info.
Methods used by them:
1) JTAG flashing, as people are trying now in this thread (i'm waiting for my flasher to try too, only got a dashboard).

2) DNS aka MITM (Man in the middle attack), creating a home DNS server to foward the request from the app on new firmwares to your own fake server and then force the update.
Rentals put ultra high firmware version numbers so the app couldn't upgrade them but IN THEORY if someone puts higher number on a fake server for an original firmware that could force flash.

Also, the ONLY known firmware repository is that github one, that nobody even yet confirmed it's real.
There are no other info on original firmwares and on the unicycle side they were able to read it from the chip, for us scooters it looks read protected so alternatives for firmware files are apreciated!

You are bringing the real questions on the table. We really don't know what we are flashing on our scooters at the moment. Let's hope it's real and let's wait for someone to confirm to us wether it's BS or not.

Turn VOI upsidedown, remove rubber cap, rip out the GPS.

I'm sorry to say but if you need a better guide for this, hacking the scooter will be kind of impossible.
