Hello scooter friends,
I'd like to start a discussion about Wheels e-bikes. I am studying all modes of electric transit in California from an electronics perspective by looking at the hardware in their brains.
I have been looking at the evolution in the circuit boards of these scooters from generations one through three in my area on Lime, Bird, Jump, and Lyft scooters. I'm really interested in how converting the new Wheels scooters will go.
I know a lot about the people behind Wheels. Let's just say they cut a lot of corners. Their speech in the press released about the bikes sounded like regurgitated marketing jargon and their "research and development investment" was just picking a company named Daibot.
Here is a source: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Daibot- ... 94569.html
Reverse image searching the first posting found the model is called "iwalk urban2"
https://www.componentsingapore.net/i-walk-m4/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWVM8U1QPwM
I did a file search for PDF's referencing that model and found this Russian user manual: https://ig-store.ru/files/products/3601 ... 2fb820.pdf
Here is the translated version: https://translate.google.com/translate? ... rev=search
These will be impounded and sold like the scooters: https://patch.com/california/santamonic ... nta-monica
Anyone else interested in these? Also, props to this community. The intelligence collection you people do with tricking scooter companies into giving you fact sheets and reverse engineering is pretty remarkable.
