Sacramento announced new legislation in the works that will require shared electric scooter companies to have docking stations where riders will retrieve and drop off e-scooters. Bird says they are pleased with this decision and look forward to working with the city to make electric scooter's more available.

My take: This defeats the convenience dock-less electric scooters offer. Shared bikes with docking stations have struggled outside of major metropolitan areas due to the distance between docking stations. Hopefully other cities do not file suit.
