Product Highlights

The QIEWA QPOWER Duble Motors Off Road Scooter is definitely an impressive little machine. This thing is very fast, as it has a max driving speed of 55 mph, or about 88 kmph. That is seriously fast for an electric scooter, almost fast enough to match a car driving on a highway! It’s definitely something you’ll want to wear a helmet when riding. This is thanks to the dual 1600 watt motors included here. Yes, that’s right, this scooter has two motors.

On that same note, the QIEWA QPOWER Duble Motors Off Road Scooter has some pretty impressive batteries too, as it has the ability to travel up to 56 miles, or about 90 km on a single charge, which is also impressive. If you drive at top speed, you can get about an hour of use out of a single charge, which is very nice for this kind of item. It does have a power-saving mode to make it last longer, plus it has a special charging system too, one which allows it to charge much faster than most other options.

In terms of durability, the QIEWA QPOWER Duble Motors Off Road Scooter is designed for off-road use, so it’s about as durable as it gets. This scooter can hold a person of well over 600 pounds, which is nothing short of awesome. This item is designed to last, to be durable, and yes, it has some really nice off-road tires on it too. It’s got a foot platform that is fairly large and easy to stand on, one with good grip, plus it features some pretty comfortable handles as well.

The Good

The good part about the QIEWA QPOWER Duble Motors Off Road Scooter is, well, more or less everything. This scooter has an insanely high weight capacity; it can go really fast and really far, it’s quite comfortable, and super tough as well. It’s got to be one of the best scooters for heavy adults out there.

The Bad

Really, the only bad part about the QIEWA QPOWER Duble Motors Off Road Scooter is that it’s going to cost you well over $2,000. Yeah, it is very pricey, so it better be an investment worth making for you.

NANROBOT D5+ Electric Scooter

%Electric Scooter Reviews %Electric Scooter Tips

Here we have a more affordable electric scooter, one that is not quite as expensive as the other one we just looked at, but also not quite as fast, quite as far traveling, or quite as durable. It’s a good mid-high range model to keep in mind.

Product Highlights

One thing that does stand out about the NANROBOT D5+ Electric Scooter is that it is very lightweight, more than light enough so you can easily carry it around with a single hand. On that same note, this scooter also has a folding mechanism, so you can easily fold down the seat and the stem to create a compact little package, ideal for taking on public transportation or storing in tight spaces.

Now, although the NANROBOT D5+ Electric Scooter is lightweight and foldable, it still has a decent weight capacity. This scooter can hold an adult of up to 330 pounds, which is not too bad considering it’s small and lightweight design. Moreover, the stainless steel frame, and various other high-quality components, are designed to last for a very long time. It’s not an off road scooter, but it still has some pretty decent tires that should keep you upright.

In terms of the speed, the NANROBOT D5+ Electric Scooter can go up to 40 mph, or about 66 kmph, which is pretty speedy indeed. This is thanks to the dual 1000 watt motors which it comes with. Also, thanks to these motors, which happen to be fairly energy-efficient, you can travel nearly 60 miles of 100 km on a single charge. That said, this scooter does need over 10 hours to achieve a full charge. All in all, we would say that the NANROBOT D5+ Electric Scooter is a very nice option to go with, maybe not quite the fastest, but it definitely holds its own.

The Good

What we like about the NANROBOT D5+ Electric Scooter is that it is indeed very fast, and it can travel long distances on a single charge, all while holding up a fairly heavy person. Moreover, it comes complete with a comfy seat, an ergonomic design, and is just very user-friendly.

The Bad

Something that is not fantastic about the NANROBOT D5+ Electric Scooter is that it has virtually no space for your feet. It’s a bit cramped in that sense. We think for the price it comes in at, it could definitely have more foot room.

Glion Dolly Electric Scooter

%Electric Scooter Reviews %Electric Scooter Tips

This is by far the most affordable electric scooter on the list so far today. Now, it cannot hold nearly as much weight, go as far, or as fast as either of the other scooters we have reviewed today, but that said, it’s also not nearly as expensive.

Product Highlights

One of the biggest highlights of this Glion Dolly Electric Scooter is that it is super lightweight and easy to transport. It weighs under 30 pounds, so you can easily lift it up with a single hand and carry it up and down stairs, or whatever your transportation needs are. It’s also a very convenient option because it has a folding design, which makes it very compact and easy to store in a tight space.

Now, it does not have a seat, which some people may not like, but this also cuts down on the weight and size of it. It does have plenty of space for your feet, and it has comfortable and ergonomically friendly handlebars too, but yes, you do have to stand up on it. When it comes to weight capacity, the Glion Dolly Electric Scooter can hold a person of up to 255 pounds, which is OK, but not great. There are much heavier people out there than 255 pounds, so this is borderline. However, the frame is aircraft aluminum alloy, so it is quite durable.

Now, in terms of the top speed, the Glion Dolly Electric Scooter can go up to 15 mph, or around 24 kmph, which is alright. No, it’s not as fast as the others we looked at, not nearly, but it is ideal for traveling on sidewalks and smaller roads. In terms of the range, it can go about 15 miles or 24 km, which is ok. Once again, it’s not as far as the others we have looked at, but it’s a decent range for such as small, lightweight, and super affordable electric scooter. What is really nice, however, is that the Glion Dolly Electric Scooter charges in about 2 hours, which is very fast.

The Good

The good part about the Glion Dolly Electric Scooter is that it is super affordable, it’s very lightweight, user-friendly, and easy to transport. It’s an inexpensive scooter that’s convenient for traveling short distances.

The Bad

The bad part about the Glion Dolly Electric Scooter is that the weight capacity is really not all that high, and when compared to other options, it’s not that fast, and it can’t go that far.

TOMOLOO Electric Scooter

%Electric Scooter Reviews %Electric Scooter Tips

Here we have another very small and lightweight foldable scooter, one that is ideal for short distances. It doesn’t cost all that much, yet it can still go pretty fast. No, it’s not like either of the first two we looked at, but for the low price, it’s a good buy.

The TOMOLOO Electric Scooter has a max weight capacity of 220 pounds, which is decent, but not great when compared to some others. If you are very heavy, this scooter may not be able to support you. That said, the 8.5 inch pneumatic tires are indeed very tough, they are durable, and they can handle some pretty bumpy terrain, although it’s definitely not any sort of off road vehicle.

In terms of speed, the TOMOLOO Electric Scooter can travel as fast as 15.5 mph, or around 26 kmph, which is not lighting fast, but still quick considering its small size. The brushless motors are very long-lasting though. Speaking of long-lasting, the battery here is not too bad either, as it can last for nearly 20 miles or 32 km, which is actually better than most, plus it’s fairly quick charging too.

The Good

We like the TOMOLOO Electric Scooter because it is very affordable. No, it’s not the fastest or toughest, but it costs a fraction of the price of some of the other scooters we have reviewed today.

The Bad

The bad part about the TOMOLOO Electric Scooter is that it’s just not all that fast, and it can’t carry all that much weight.

HOVER-1 Journey Electric Folding Scooter

%Electric Scooter Reviews %Electric Scooter Tips

Product Highlights

Just like the previous scooter we looked at, the HOVER-1 Journey Electric Folding Scooter has a weight capacity of 220 pounds, which is decent, but not great. We aren’t quite sure how to define a “heavy adult”, but there are definitely people over 220 pounds. That said, the HOVER-1 Journey Electric Folding Scooter is built to be durable, and yes, it has a steel frame, plus nice tires too, so there is that. It’s not like this scooter is not durable, but it just cannot hold super heavy people.

When it comes to speed, the HOVER-1 Journey Electric Folding Scooter can travel up to 14 mph, or around 22 kmph, which is alright. No, it’s not the fastest around, but it should be more than fast enough for zipping around a city or small town. What is pretty nice about this scooter is that it can go continuously for about 16 miles, which means that its battery life is about 1 hour, or a little more actually. What’s also nice is that this scooter can charge in about 5 hours, which is not too long.

We do like the HOVER-1 Journey Electric Folding Scooter because it is super lightweight, more than light enough to carry with a single hand. On that same note, it does also have a folding design, so you can fold the stem down to create a compact package, making it convenient for transportation and easy to store in a tight space. It may not be exactly the most impressive electric scooter, but for the super low price it comes in at, it definitely holds its own.

The Good

The good part about the HOVER-1 Journey Electric Folding Scooter is its price. When compared to other options, it’s much cheaper. Sure, it might not be as heavy-duty or as fast, but it performs alright for short distances.

The Bad

The bad part about the HOVER-1 Journey Electric Folding Scooter, at least when compared to other models reviewed here today, is that it cannot hold up as much weight, go as fast, or go as far.

Buyers Guide

Before you go out and buy any old electric scooter, there are some fairly important considerations for you to keep in mind. So, what do you need to look out for before buying an electric scooter for heavy adults?

Weight Limits

Since today’s piece is all about scooters for heavy people, the most important factor for you to keep an eye on is what the weight limit of the scooter in question is. Now, if you weight 200 pounds, a weight limit of 220 or 230 pounds is recommended. Whatever your weight is, try to go for a scooter that can hold more than just you. Generally, the more weight the scooter can hold, the better it will perform.

Battery backup

Something that is convenient is if your scooter comes with a battery backup. In other words, a spare power bank, an extra battery, or something similar always comes in handy. Keep in mind that most of these electric scooters cannot go very far on a single charge. Unfortunately, the vast majority of these items do not come with battery backups.

Motor & Power

You do want to look for an electric scooter that has a lot of power and a strong motor. The first option we reviewed today came in at 2400 watts, which for this kind of thing is about as high as it gets. Remember, folks, the better the motor, the faster the scooter will go, the more weight it can handle, and the further it can go.

Construction

Simply put, if you are a heavy adult, you need a scooter than can support you. In all reality, a strong stainless steel frame, or at least steel, is what you should go for. Now, in terms of a seat, whether you need one is totally up to you. Either way, if you are very heavy, you do need something that is rated for a high level of durability.

Suspension

The other thing you might want to look out for here is whether or not the electric scooter in question features suspension. Some will come with it, and some do not. Usually, the pricier options will have suspension in the front and rear, and sometimes under the seat, if there is a seat. The suspension will definitely make your ride more comfortable.

FAQ

Are electric scooters allowed on the sidewalk?

Unfortunately, in most places, you are not allowed to use an electric scooter on the sidewalk. Now, in Canada, for instance, many places do not strictly prohibit it, but the USA is a little more strict when it comes to this.

How far can an electric scooter go on one charge?

How far an electric scooter can go on a single charge all depends on the quality of the battery and the power of the motor. Some can only go 10 or 15 miles, while some can go nearly 60 miles on a single charge.

Can electric scooters go up hills?

The more powerful electric scooters, such as the first two we reviewed, can definitely go up hills, maybe not mountains, but some pretty decent inclines. That said, the other three electric scooters we looked at, while they might be able to deal with some slight inclines, hills are another story.

How to maintain an electric scooter?

To maintain an electric scooter, for one, always drain most of the battery and then fully charge it. Never charge them halfway. Moreover, be sure to lube the gearbox, the chain, and any other moving parts on a regular basis.

What are the advantages of electric scooters?

For the most part, electric scooters end up being a fairly cost-effective means of transportation. Moreover, you don’t need a driver’s license for them, you never have to worry about gas, and most of them are super portable too.

Conclusion

The bottom line is that electric scooters are pretty convenient for a variety of reasons. That said, if you are a heavy adult, you do need to look for one that can support your weight, and then some. Personally, we would recommend either of the first two we reviewed, as they are the biggest, fastest, furthest reaching, and with the highest weight capacity, but are also very expensive. If you are looking for something decent, but also cost-effective, any of the other three reviewed today will do just fine as well.
